OUR STORY
1965
My mom, Colleen Ferraioli, was born in South Jersey. She spent some of her earliest years with her dad selling at flea markets at the crack of dawn on weekends and tinkering alongside him in her family garage.
My dad, JP Ferraioli, was born and raised in Brooklyn. He grew up on a block full of kids using the streets of Carroll Gardens as his playground.
1971
1975
When he was 10 years old, my dad’s grandmother gave him a vintage Coca-Cola tray from the 1940s that sparked his lifelong obsession with collecting vintage.
1993
Two people meet. They quickly fall in love and build a life together. Meanwhile, dad’s collection grows and turns from a hobby into a side hustle.
1996
Brownstone Treasures, my parents’ first shop, officially opens on Court Street.
A few months later, they open a second store: Yesterday’s News.
2024
Today, we’re a second-generation family-owned and operated business in the heart of our native neighborhood of Carroll Gardens.
We’re a one stop shop for all things vintage and a staple in the community.
2026
After graduating, I leave the corporate world behind and join the family business fulltime.
With it I bring my experience in social media marketing and event planning to bring the business face to face with a whole new generation.
